Headquarters Self-Evaluation Policy
This policy establishes DPKO's and DFS's approach to the self-evaluation (hereinafter, evaluation) of Headquarters' programmes and sub-programmes. It ensures that evaluation activities support and enhance the structural changes to peacekeeping that were initiated on 1 July 2007 as part of the Secretary-General's goal of strengthening capacities to manage and sustain peace operations. It also establishes a basis to meet the evaluation goals set out in the annual Senior Managers Compacts of the USGs for DPKO and DFS with the Secretary- General. The policy outlines the main organizational roles and responsibilities; defines the types of Headquarters evaluations conducted, or supported, by the Evaluation Unit of the Policy, Evaluation and Training Division; and, describes the process to plan, conduct and follow-up evaluations. The policy also outlines the disclosure arrangements for evaluation findings. ***This policy supersedes the previous version (2010.26).
