Virtual Private Networks Policy
This policy is to define DPKO/DFS requirements for securely accessing ICT resources and data that are not designated for public access from off-site, public and remote locations including the Internet. Additionally, the policy establishes requirements for secure site-to-site networking.ssThe policy seeks to assist field missions in minimising the exposure to risks associated with the transmission of ICT data across public networks. Specifically, this policy establishes requirements formulated to minimize any potential adverse impact to the Departments that may result from unauthorized disclosure, modification or destruction of data or damage to critical ICT resources through the use of Virtual Private Networks (VPN) technologies which are efficient and cost-effective methods for enabling secure remote and site-to-site access.
